Graduate scheme
What training will I get?
You will receive support for professional qualifications such as ACII, ACCA, CIMA, actuarial or ISEB Diploma, with generous study leave and excellent remuneration. You will also receive on-the-job training and independent study and lunchtime learning sessions.
What opportunities will there be to network?
You’ll be working in the Lloyd’s environment and various groups within the London insurance market, which will help you establish a valuable network of key contacts.
How does the mentoring system work?
A mentor will be there to support you for the duration of the graduate programme. Your mentor, who acts as your partner and advisor within Kiln, is from a part of the business other than the one you are assigned to.
How will you monitor progress?
We believe it is essential that you are able to keep track of the progress you are making. Every six to eight weeks, you will discuss your performance with the graduate manager. Your technical know-how will be tested at various stages during the programme, and specific objectives will be set at the outset of each rotation.
How many placements do you offer each year?
The number of opportunities varies from year to year, depending on the needs of our business. We usually recruit four to six new graduates each year.
How do I learn about different parts of the business?
You will spend time in each relevant department so you can learn about that specialist area. This gives you, and us, time to assess and consider your strengths, as well as establishing which part of the business you are most suited to.
How will I be rewarded?
Your salary progression is directly linked to your success in passing the various modules of your professional qualification. This means that your salary will increase as you pass each set of examinations.
Where will I work when I finish?
When you have completed the rotation programme we will work with you to agree your permanent placement. We will take into account your successes over the programme and feedback from the heads of department with whom you have worked.
